Out of the Studio
The other day I came across something on flickr that I had been thinking about re-doing. The organization of my polymer swatches and formulas was needing my attention. I had taken a bunch of 8 1/2" x 11" cardboard, used a 3-hole punch and put them in a large 3-ring binder. My polymer swatches were glued on with Aleene's original tacky glue. Unfortunately, some of the swatches had begun to unglue. Also, all the formulas are written by hand below the swatch - so it could be neater. Serendipitously, Roberta Warshaw shared a photo via Flickr of the way she organized her color samples and recipes. Actually she bought her recipes from CraftsbyChris. If you haven't spent any time on that site, it's definitely worth checking out. Chris has done all the work - why re-invent the wheel? Roberta took the recipes, went to Walgreens and bought a photo album. She suggests using the albums with the metal rings vs. the albums with the glued in pages. Those tend to be harder to close when the pages are filled. She glues the swatches in with superglue. But I also think the sheet protector aspect of the album is a good idea - just in case you lose a swatch here or there. But don't you just want to flip through her album?

Thanks for the link Janice!
I do love Chris's formulas and am already waiting impatiently for Spring/Summer 2012.
Thank you for today's post and link. Since I had planned on using 6 or 7 of these shades anyway, Chris's recipes saved me hours of experimentation.
This is a nice surprise! Thanks for the link Janice! And thanks to Roberta also! :)
There's also a business card size version that is a little more compact.
