Marvelous Monday
Since 1981, James Mosier has been weaving baskets. Initially the baskets were of a more traditional shape using only natural materials. Over time they bean to evolve into more contemporary shapes using non-traditional materials. In 1992, he bagan using aluminum in the basketry. At first glance, I thought it was some sort of color treated aluminum. But upon looking closer, I learned that he paints the aluminum sheets with acrylics, cuts the sheets with a bench shear and weaves them to create these glorious objects. Hope you enjoy and have a marvelous Monday!
